by M. Bruns
The Q-PorkChains Liaison Office is aiming to support the collaboration between industry and science by (organised by GIQS e.V.):
• Coordinating pilot and demo activities (testing research concepts in the "real world")
• Supporting SMEs to participate in pilot and demo activities
• Integrating of new business partners by competitive call (2009)
• Informing business actors about progress and results of Q-PorkChains
• Organising training for the target group "Business actors"
Through the establishment of the Industry Liaison Office (by the EU Commission) in the structure of the large Q-PorkChains research consortium barriers that need to be overcome by industrial actors (and especially by SMEs) are taken into account.
Within the framework of the multilateral innovation cooperation Q-PorkChains industrial actors can make use of management support services offered by the Liaison Office. This created a pivotal issue for the economic partners participating in the project. Through this device the complex structure of the consortium could be simplified. Furthermore, the research project had an increased amount of resources through the establishment of the Liaison Office, in order to conciliate the numerous demands of the fund providers in ways suitable to the target groups and thus shape the integration of the economic actors efficiently.
Services offered by the Industry Liaison Office have been conceptual developed and tested in the QPC project. This results in the concept to identify the demand for management support.
