| Chambre Regional d’Agriculture de Bretagne is a farmer organisation in charge of the development of agriculture in Brittany, which is the most important area of animal production in France, accounting for 55% of the total French pig production. Its main goals are to observe future markets, seek out new services and new markets, encourage the qualification of farms, protect natural resources, create tomorrows jobs, invest in research and development activities and promote Breton agriculture. Sixty engineers are involved in research and development activities, including 20 for pork and poultry production. CRAB runs two experimental pig facilities and operates a network of 500 farms in Brittany. |

France Hybrides breeding program includes state of the art pathogen-free breeding, sophisticated individual body composition and feeding behaviour recording schemes, routine parentage testing, genetic parameters and breeding value estimation systems. France Hybrides owns several original pure bred pig lines and associated DNA and phenotypic records multigenerational databases. Its products include a range of cross-bred parent stock animals and either fresh or frozen semen, technical services in both technical and genetic management of pig germplasm in production. France Hybrides is a company of the Glon group, the first French food processing group, and its products are used in more than 20 countries in Europe and overseas. France Hybrides has been involved in various national and international projects within meat quality (e.g. SEFABAR). |

This team managed to provide the impetus for extensive dynamic innovation amongst the agro food trades internationally (4000 Employees, grouped in a holding of 60 companies). Iinitially specialising in animal nutrition, Groupe Glon has extended its activities over several main areas: Pork, Egg, Poultry meat, Rabbit, Ruminant, Vegetal and animal Health. The Groupe Glon networks consist of vigorous enterprises, build upstream upon sturdy partnerships with stock breeders and farmers (whether independent or in groups), and downstream with industrial and mass market leaders in the agro food trades sector. All of these stringently meet set standards of quality and safety: a combination of specific skills and expertise which, from the plough to the plate, unites all participants in pursuit of one common goal.
